Liz and Griff’s spectacular wedding week began with a welcome dinner for all 170 guests hosted by Griff’s parents, Carla and Mitch Norville, at their home in Pine Island.  This beautiful home is the second oceanfront house on the same property; the Norvilles first home burnt down in a fire that consumed three houses in April 2012.  The Norvilles live in Pine Island for at least half of the year and could think of no better way to celebrate the construction of their new house then to host all of Liz and Griff’s guests for a fantastic night of food and fun.  Catered by Red Sky and decorated by Bells & Whistles, with rentals from Ocean Atlantic, the welcome dinner kicked off the wedding weekend.

Griff’s family has long visited the Outer Banks (they even built two houses here in the 1990s) and they were happy to share their love of this ribbon of sand with Liz who grew up in Miami.  Liz fell in love with the Outer Banks immediately and always looked forward to visiting several times each year.  Even though they live in Philadelphia, Liz and Griff knew they had to have their wedding in Corolla.  It was important to the couple that their family and friends who were traveling from all over the country would feel welcome and cared for.  And Liz and Griff also wanted to share their love of the Outer Banks by showcasing its natural beauty and all it has to offer. Whalehead fit their vision perfectly – a gorgeous ceremony on the Point followed by a tented reception where Liz could bring her Miami flare to the decor and create a beautiful and unique environment through the design of Bells & Whistles and Blue Steel Lighting was exactly what Liz and Griff wanted for their special day.  A fantastic band kept the place rocking all night after amazing catering by Ocean Boulevard featuring local ingredients and North Carolina flare.  At one point during the night, all 170 guests were on the dance floor – no one was sitting!  The entire evening was the perfect reflection of Liz and Griff – elegant, sophisticated and fun.  Guests from all over the country raved about the ceremony, the food, the cake, the band, the decor.

To end the celebrations, the Norvilles hosted a brunch the next day for all of the guests.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect week.
